74th Annual Grampians Wildflower Show
DATES FOR 2012: OCTOBER 4 (THURSDAY) TO OCTOBER 7 (SUNDAY)
9.30 to 5 daily (last entry 4.30) . Cost TO BE ADVISED.
This year once again it comes in the middle of the school holidays, not the end. It will be our 75th birthday, and so should be special. Planning has started and we’ll keep you updated during the year.
Check the Spring into the Grampians link to find other activities in the area.
The display in the Centenary Hall will again feature plants from heathland, woodland and wetland areas and we also plan to have a separate display showing closely related plants near each other.
Other features of the show will include:
- exhibits highlighting conservation issues, particularly the work going on to protect our threatened and rare species, particularly orchids.
- an inspiring collection of local native terrestrial orchids
- hands on children’s activities. Puzzles, quizzes, painting.
- twice daily bus tours with expert guides to see wildflowers – limited numbers (at an extra cost of $4)
- gift shop with a wide variety of publications and wildflower related souvenirs
